Lesson 30 of 74 · B1, Unit 1: The wider world
Culture and holidays
This closing lesson gathers the holiday and celebration vocabulary that's come up in pieces — Egészségedre! from food and drink, Boldog... constructions from feelings — into one place, plus Hungary's own national days.
Boldog + occasion covers most greetings: Boldog születésnapot ('happy birthday'), Boldog karácsonyt ('merry Christmas'), Boldog új évet ('happy new year').
By the end you can:
- name the main Hungarian holidays
- wish someone a happy birthday, Christmas, or new year
- propose a toast and respond to one
