Lesson 42 of 74 · A1, Unit 6: Time and everyday things
Everyday adjectives
colours-and-describing already gave you nagy/kicsi and jó/rossz; this lesson rounds out the set of everyday adjective opposites you'll reach for constantly — light/heavy, full/empty, loud/quiet, and a couple of words that double as both a size word and a measure of price or temperature.
Like every Hungarian adjective, these go before the noun and don't change to agree with it: nehéz kérdés ('a difficult question'), nehéz kérdések ('difficult questions').
By the end you can:
- use everyday adjective opposites: gyors/lassú, könnyű/nehéz, tele/üres, hangos/csendes
- combine adjectives with nagyon and egy kicsit to say 'very' and 'a little'
- describe things at a market stall or in an apartment using these words
