Lesson 52 of 74 · B1, Unit 4: Practical situations and stories
Formal Hungarian
Every lesson from greetings on has quietly taught you two registers side by side; this lesson collects the formal one into the specific words and structures that show up in an email or a meeting.
Tisztelt + name/title opens a formal letter or email, the Hungarian equivalent of 'Dear...': Tisztelt Kovács Úr! Formal emails close just as predictably, with Üdvözlettel ('Regards').
By the end you can:
- open and close a formal email correctly
- run basic meeting phrases: agreeing, disagreeing, and returning to the topic
- address people formally by title and surname
