Lesson 13 of 74 · A2, Unit 1: Daily life
House and home
van ('there is') and vannak ('there are') work the same for objects as for people: Van egy asztal a szobában, 'There is a table in the room.'
-ban/-ben means 'in' and picks its vowel by vowel harmony: házban ('in a house') but kertben ('in a garden'). You'll see the same pattern on many other endings later.
By the end you can:
- name the rooms of a home and common furniture
- say what is in a room using van/vannak and -ban/-ben
- ask and say where you live, in more detail than Hol laksz?
