Lesson 3 of 19
Your family and your Hungarian ancestor
This is likely the single most useful lesson in this course: describing your Hungarian ancestor is very likely to come up, since it's the whole basis of your claim.
The pattern is reusable for any ancestor and any place: [family member] + [place]-ban/-ben született ('was born in [place]'), and [year]-ban/-ben [place]-ba/-be költözött ('moved to [place] in [year]').
By the end you can:
- name your close and extended family members
- say where and when your ancestor was born
- describe when and why your ancestor emigrated
