Lesson 16 of 74 · A2, Unit 3: Work, learning, and free time
Jobs and work
To ask someone's job, use Mi a foglalkozásod? (informal) or Mi a foglalkozása? (formal) — the same -d/-ja possessive pattern you've already seen in Mi a neved?
Most profession names have a female form ending in -nő: tanár/tanárnő ('teacher'); orvos works for both, and many modern job titles are simply borrowed from English.
By the end you can:
- name common professions
- ask and answer what someone does for work
- say where you work using -ban/-ben
